| can | Tomatoes (28 oz) | | 8
| small | White onions, peeled | | 6
| oz | Tomato paste | | 2
| tsp | Sugar | | 1
| | Bay leaf |

Procedures:
| 1 | Rub chicken with garlic. | | 2 | Mince garlic and save. | | 3 | Combine flour, 1 tsp salt, and pepper in large paper bag; shake chicken pieces until coated. | | 4 | Heat oil in dutch oven. | | 5 | Brown chicken a few pieces at a time on all sides; drain on absorbent paper. | | 6 | Pour off any oil remaining in pan. | | 7 | Return chicken to dutch oven. | | 8 | Add garlic, tomatoes, tomato paste, onions, sugar, 1 tsp salt, and bay leaf. | | 9 | Cover. | | 10 | Basting occasionally with sauce in the pan, simmer 1 hour or until chicken is tender |
