Ingredients:
1 medOnion, chopped
1/4 cupGreen pepper, chopped
4 cupWater, divided
1 canGreat Northern beans, rinsed
-and drained (15 oz)
1 canNavy beans, rinsed and
-drained (15 oz)
1 canSalt-free tomato sauce
-(6 oz)
1 canLow-salt diced tomatoes
-undrained (14.5 oz)
2 tspChili powder, or to taste
1 tspSalt (optional)
1/2 tspPepper
Procedures:
1In a large saucepan, cook the onion and green pepper in ?cup water until tender.
2Add beans, tomato paste and tomatoes.
3Stir in chili powder, salt if desired, pepper and remaining water; bring to a boil.
4Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
