Dorothy's sweet and sour chicken

Ingredients:
2 lbsChicken parts
8 ozPineapple chunks
1 cupChicken broth
2 tbspShortening
2 tbspBrown sugar
1/4 cupVinegar
2 tbspSoy sauce
1 Large onion
1 Med. green pepper
3 tbspCornstarch
1/4 cupWater
Procedures:
1Drain pineapple,reserving syrup.
2In skillet brown chicken in shortening.
3Pour off fat.
4Add reserved syrup, broth, brown sugar,vinegar, soy sauce and garlic.
5Cover and cook over low heat 40 minutes.
6Add green pepper amd pineapple cook 5 minutes.
7Combine cornstarch and water gradually stir into sauce
