Ingredients:

| cup | Burnt sugar syrup | | 2
| | Egg whites, at room temp | | 1 1/4
| cup | Sugar | | 1/4
| cup | Cold water | | 1/4
| tsp | Cream of tarter | | 1/4
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla extract |

Procedures:
| 1 | Place all the ingredients except the vanilla extract in the top of a double boiler (but don"t place over boiling water yet). | | 2 | Add ?cup of the burnt sugar syrup. | | 3 | With a small electric mixer, beat ?minute at low speed. | | 4 | Place pot over boiling water, but don"t allow the pan to touch the boiling water. | | 5 | Cook, beating constantly, until the frosting forms stiff peaks, about 7 minutes. | | 6 | Add vanilla. | | 7 | Remove from heat and beat 2 minutes longer |
