Elegant quiche

Ingredients:
PASTRY SHELL
2 cupFlour
1 dashSalt
1 cupButter or margarine
1 tbspOil
2 tbsp-Cold water, or more
FILLING
1 Onion, chopped
1 tbspButter or margarine
1 dashDried thyme, crushed
1 Bay leaf
5 ozBacon, chopped
5 Eggs
2 Egg yolks
1 cupHalf and half
1 dashGround nutmeg
1/3 lbsSwiss cheese, shredded
Procedures:
1Mix flour and salt in bowl.
2Cut in 1 cup butter and oil until mixture resembles coarse meal.
3Sprinkle with water, tossing with fork until dough holds together.
4Gather into ball and chill a few minutes if dough is too soft to handle.
5Roll out pastry on floured board and fit into 10-inch quiche pan or pie plate.
6To make filling, saute onion in 1 tablespoon butter.
7Add thyme and bay leaf.
8Remove bay leaf.
9Cook bacon until crisp, then drain.
10Blend eggs, yolks, half and half and nutmeg.
11Place bacon, onion and cheese in pastry shell.
12Cover with egg mixture.
13Bake at 350f 35 to 40 minutes, or until knife inserted near center comes out clean
