Ingredients:
2 cupFlour
1/2 tspSifted baking soda
1 tspSalt
1/4 cupCrisco
1 Egg
1 cupButtermilk
1 Hen
1/2 tspSalt
Procedures:
1In 8-10 quart saucepan with lid,stew in hen in water until tender with salt & pepper.
2Remove hen, skin & debone; set aside.
3Mix flour, soda, ?ts.
4Pepper, & ?ts.
5Salt.
6Cut in crisco until crumbles.
7Add milk.
8Mix well & turn on well floured surface to roll.
9Sprinkle flour on top & roll very thin.
10Makes approximately 17x25-inch squares.
11Bring chicken broth to a boil & drop dumplings in one at a time.
12Keep dumplings separated.
13Simmer 15 min. serve immediately.
14You may return chicken to pot or serve separately. ~
