| 1 | Preheat oven to 400°F. |
| 2 | In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, cayenne pepper, and cheese thoroughly. |
| 3 | Add melted margarine and mix. |
| 4 | Chill dough in refrigerator for 20 minutes. |
| 5 | Place dough on a large, floured board. |
| 6 | Place a large piece of waxed paper on top of dough or use a heavily-floured rolling pin. |
| 7 | Roll dough to ?inch thick. |
| 8 | Remove wax paper. |
| 9 | Holding a fork upside down, draw the prongs vertically along dough from top to bottom, making ridges. |
| 10 | With a wide, flat knife cut dough into rectangular shapes 3 x 1 inch. |
| 11 | Oil a cookie sheet and place cut cheese on it. |
| 12 | Bake in 400°F oven for 10-12 minutes until cheese straws look dry but not brown. |
| 13 | Let cool. |
| 14 | Repeat procedure until all of dough is baked. |
| 15 | Serve at room-temperature. |
| 16 | Freezes well. |
