Caramelized apple and toasted walnut brie

Ingredients:
2 tbspUnsalted butter
1 medRed apple (Fuji or Braeburn)
-cored, sliced or chopped
1 tbspGranulated sugar
15 ozRipe, round Brie, room temp.
1/4 cupWalnuts, toasted, and
-coarsely chopped
Procedures:
1Melt butter in a 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat.
2Add apple slices or chunks and sugar.
3Saute, tossing occasionally, until apples are soft and golden brown in color, approximately 10-12 minutes.
4Allow apples to cool slightly.
5Carefully place chopped apple or fan apple slices over the brie.
6Sprinkle with toasted walnuts.
7May be served right away, or can be prepared several hours in advance and be brought to room temperature for serving.
8Accompany the cheese with assorted crackers and/or bread slices
