Ingredients:
-GRAMMIE'S KITCHEN
1 Kishka
4 cupFlour
3/4 lbsSuet, ground beef fat
4 tspSalt
2 tspPepper
2 largeCarrot, grated
2 Onions, grated
2 Celery, grated
Procedures:
1Combine fat and flour.
2Blend well.
3Add vegetables, salt, and pepper.
4Knead well.
5Stuff kishka loosely, like a turkey, only ?inch thick.
6(flatten it).
7Lay stuffed kishka around in a roasting pan.
8Add cold salted water to cover.
9Cover pan and simmer on top of stove about 1 hour.
10Slice and serve hot.
11My note: my bubbe used to make this all the time.
12When she didn"t have kishka, she used the loose skin from the turkey or chicken.
13We called it helzel.
14She stuffed that after she sewed into a tube.
