Bavarian cream

Ingredients:
1 Envelope unflavored gelatin
2 tbspCold water
2 Egg yolks
1/2 cupSugar
1 dashSalt
1 cupMilk
1 tspVanilla
1 cupHeavy cream, or 2 cups
-whipped topping
Procedures:
1Sprinkle gelatin on cold water.
2Beat egg yolks, sugar & salt in the top of a double boiler.
3Beat until light.
4Add milk.
5Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick & smooth.
6Add softened gelatin, dissolve.
7Add vanilla.
8Cool until thick, stirring often.
9Whip cream until it is very thick, but not stiff, fold into the cooled gelatin mixture.
10Pour into a 6-cup mold rinsed in cold water, chill until set.
11Unmold, serve with chocolate sauce.
12Makes 6 servings.
13My notes: i added an extra egg yolk, & about half a pint of red raspberries to the milk mixture to make sure it would thicken.
14I didn"t have heavy cream, so i used a cup of lite sour cream
