Barbequed sauerkraut

Ingredients:
1/2 cupChopped Onion
1 tbspButter
5 Strips Bacon -- cut up -Or-
1/2 cupBacon Bits
16 ozCan Tomatoes -- diced
16 ozCan Sauerkraut-well drained
3/4 cupBrown Sugar
Polish Sausage -- diced
(optional)
Procedures:
1In a small skillet, saute onion with bacon.
2In a 2 quart casserole dish, combine kraut, tomatoes, brown sugar, bacon and onion (add polish sausage if desired).
3Bake uncovered, for 1-2 hours in a 350 degree oven.
4Casserole should look caramelly around the edges.
