Bacon-onion cheesecake

Ingredients:
2/3 cupStone-ground wheat cracker
- crumbs
1/3 cupWalnuts, finely chopped
2 tbspButter, softened
8 sliceBacon
1/2 cupOnion, chopped
1 tbspBacon drippings
24 ozCream cheese, softened
3 Eggs, beaten
1/2 tspCayenne Pepper
1/4 tspGarlic powder
Parsley sprig
Shredded carrot
Carrot Curl
Procedures:
1Combine cracker crumbs, walnuts & butter until well blended.
2Press crumbs evenly on bottom of springform pan.
3Bake in pre-heated 350°F oven 10 minutes.
4Cool on rack.
5Fry bacon until crisp, then crumble.
6Saute onion in drippings until tender and set aside.
7Beat cream cheese.
8Gradually add eggs, garlic powder & cayenne.
9Beat until smooth.
10Stir in bacon and onions.
11Spoon mixture into pan.
12Spread level.
13Bake 45 to 60 minutes or until cheesecake is almost set and cracks on top.
14Cool completely.
15Store in refrigerator covered with plastic wrap.
16Just before serving at room temp., remove sides of pan.
17Garnish with circle of shredded carrot to edge.
18Place carrot curl in center with sprig of parsley.
19Serve with crackers or carrot slices
