| cup | Mayonnaise or salad dressing | | 1/4
| cup | Finely chopped onion | | 1
| | Garlic clove, crushed | | 1/2
| tsp | Basil leaves | | 8
| oz | Package cream cheese | | | - softened | | 1
| | Garlic clove crushed | | 3
| | Drops hot pepper sauce | | 1
| tsp | Mayonnaise or salad dressing | | | Pimiento | | | Parsley |

Procedures:
| 1 | In a medium bowl, mash braunschweiger with fork. | | 2 | Add mayonnaise onion, 1 garlic clove and basil leaves mix well. | | 3 | Mound mixture on plate; cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours. | | 4 | In small bowl combine cream cheese, 1 garlic clove, hot pepper sauce and mayonnaise. | | 5 | Frost braunschweiger with cheese mixture. | | 6 | Refrigerate until serving time. | | 7 | Just before serving, garnish with pimiento and parsley. | | 8 | Serve with dark rye snack bread or scrackers. | | 9 | Makes 3-?cups. | | 10 | Per tablespoon: 60 calories. |
