Ingredients:
FAVORITE RESTAURANTS, BON A
1 lbsPearl onions, peeled
2 cupWhite vinegar
1 cupWater
2 Bay leaves
2 tspDill seeds
2 tspSugar
Oil for frying
1/2 cupAll purp flour
1/2 cupToasted wh. wheat breadcrumb
2 Egg yolk, beaten, to 3
Procedures:
1Deja-vu, philadelphia, pa combine onions, vinegar, water, bay leaves, dill seeds, and sugar in med saucepan and cook over med high heat until onions are tender, 5-10 mins.
2Let cool.
3Transfer to bowl, cover tightly and refrigerate 48 hours.
4Remove onions from marinade and drain on paper towels.
5Pour oil into lg skillet to 1" depth.
6Place over med high heat.
7Meanwhile, combine flour and crumbs in flat dish.
8Dip onions into egg yolds, then roll in flour mixture, covering completely.
9When oil is hot, add onions to skillet and fry until brown and crisp.
10Drain on paper towels.
11Serve immediately.
