Ingredients:

| lbs | To 3 lb pork (steaks or | | | -inexpensive pieces) | | 1/4
| | To ?cup shortening | | 1
| large | Onion, chopped | | 2
| med | Tomatoes, chopped | | 2
| | Handfuls flour | | 2
| cup | Water |

Procedures:
| 1 | Garlic powder salt pepper cumin cut pork into tiny pieces. | | 2 | Brown in shortening; add chopped onion and tomatoes; stir together. | | 3 | Add flour slowly (do not use masa harina!). | | 4 | Stir till thickened as like gravy, then add 2 cups water. | | 5 | To suit, add: garlic powder, salt, pepper, liberal dose cumin. | | 6 | Stew on medium low for 30-45 minutes. | | 7 | Serve with refritos, spanish rice. | | 8 | Per joe warin |
