Buttermilk marinated kabobs

Ingredients:
MARINADE
2 tbspFirmly packed brown sugar
2 tbspFresh lemon juice
1 tbspWorcestershire sauce
1 tbspSalt
1/2 tbspDried basil
1/2 tbspDried majoram
2 cupButtermilk
KABOBS
2 lbsRound steak, approx 1" thick
1 xCut into 2"squares (24 piece
3 eachMedium onions, cut into 8 pi
24 each1" thick slices of zucchini
12 eachCherry tomatoes
6 eachLarge mushrooms, halved
Procedures:
1For marinade: combine brown sugar, lemon juice, worcestershire sauce, salt, and herbs.
2Stir in buttermilk.
3Add meat; cover and marinate in refrigerator a minimum of 12 hours.
4For kabobs: parboil onions in boiling salted water to cover, 6-8 minutes; rinse with cold water and drain.
5To assemble: alternate pieces of meat with onions, zucchini, tomatoes, and mushrooms on each skewer.
6Grill over hot coals until meat reaches desired degree of doneness.
7Baste frequently with marinade.
8Allow approximately 15 minutes for medium cooked meat.
9Makes 8 kabobs
