Ingredients:
6 xOr 7 medium potatoes
2 tbspOil
1 1/2 lbsMedium ground beef
1 largeOnion, diced
1/4 tspAllspice
1/4 tspCinnamon
1/4 tspGarlic salt
Salt and pepper to taste
Pastry for 2 double-crust
9-inch pies
Procedures:
1Comments: the large quantity of potatoes and modest amount of seasonning seems to reduce the beef flavor.
2We vote for a little less potato and an extra pinch of spice.
3Boil potatoes and mash coarsely.
4Heat oil in large, heavy duty frying pan and brown beef and onion.
5Stir in potatoes, allspice, cinnamon, garlic salt, salt and pepper.
6Preheat oven to 400°F..
7Line two 9-inch pie pans with pastry.
8Using slotted spoon, fill pans with meat mixture.
9Cover with top crusts, cutting vents so steam can escape.
10Bake= in preheated oven for 45 minutes or until golden-brown.
11Makes two tourti=8ares
