Procedures:
| 1 | Layer alternately wild cherries and sugar in a gallon jar. | | 2 | Place plate on top of cherries inside the jar to weight them. | | 3 | Cover and let stand until the next day, when there will be a quantity of syrup present. | | 4 | Add wild cherries and sugar each day until the jar remains filled after standing overnight. | | 5 | Cover, but don"t stir. | | 6 | Place jar in pan as syrup might run over. | | 7 | Store in cool place for six weeks. | | 8 | Strain and add one quart whiskey. | | 9 | Bottle and serve when a real treat is desired. |
