Buckshot beans (crockpot)

Ingredients:
2 cupDried pinto beans, washed
2 clGarlic, minced
1/2 literSmoked ham, chopped
1/2 cupChopped bell pepper
2 tspBrown sugar
1/4 tspOregano
1 largeOnion, chopped
1 Bay leaf
2 cupCanned chopped tomatoes
2 tspChili powder
1/2 tspDry mustard
Procedures:
1Cover beans with water and let soak overnight.
2Drain beans, discarding soaking water.
3In crock pot, cover beans with fresh water and add remaining ingredients.
4Cook on low for 6-8 hours, until beans are tender.
5Taste beans, add salt if necessary (don"t add salt at the beginning of cooking time - it will make the beans tough!)
