Ingredients:

| lbs | Flank steak | | 1
| | Onion, thinly sliced | | 1
| tsp | Grated lemon rind | | 1/2
| cup | Lemon juice | | 2
| tbsp | Sugar | | 2
| tbsp | Soy sauce | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1/2
| tsp | Dried whole oregano | | 1/8
| tsp | Coarsely ground pepper | | 1
| tbsp | Butter, melted |

Procedures:
| 1 | Trim excess fat from steak; score steak on both sides in 1 ?inch squares. | | 2 | Place half of onion slices in a 12 x8 x 2 inch baking dish. | | 3 | Top with steak and then remaining onion slices. | | 4 | Combine lemon rind and next 6 ingredients; pour over meat. | | 5 | Cover and refrigerate 8 hours, turning steak occasionally. | | 6 | Remove meat from marinade and place on a lightly greased rack in a broiler pan. | | 7 | Remove onion slices and discard marinade. | | 8 | Set aside. | | 9 | Broil steak 4 inches from heat 6 to 8 minutes on each side. | | 10 | Cook reserved onion in 1 tablespoon buter in a skillet until crisp-tender. | | 11 | To serve, slice steak across the grain into thin slices; top with onion |
