Ingredients:
1/4 lbsPer sandwich
1 largeBottle hickory flavor BBQ
-sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Clove garlic, minced
1 medOnion, chopped
1/4 cupVegetable oil
Procedures:
1Use 10 to 12" dutch oven, depending on size of batch.
2Economy cut roasts work best as they seem to have more flavor.
3Level & heat oven, add oil & brown roast on all sides.
4Add salt, pepper, & garlic.
5Cover, add heat to top & simmer.
6Check & turn roast every 15 min until tender -- usually about 1 hr.
7Remove bone (if any), excess fat, & cut roast up into bite size pieces.
8Remove excess grease from oven (??? not sure what he means here) with a spoon, then pour in bbq sauce to thicken the juice that was in the oven.
9It may take the whole bottle.
10Place meat back in oven & simmer 30 - 45 min in roast juice & bbq mixture.
11Spread on bread & enjoy.
12A variation is to substitute hamburger for the roast to make sloppy joes
