Apricot bread

Ingredients:
1/2 cupPacked dried apricots
1/3 cupWater
2 cupWhole wheat pastry flour
1 tbspBaking powder
1/4 tspBaking soda
1/2 cupMaple syrup (OR
1 cupBrown sugar)
2 tbspButter
1 Egg
1/3 cupOrange liqueur
3/4 cupChopped pecans
Procedures:
1Soak apricots for 20 minutes in water.
2Mix together flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
3In another bowl, beat maple syrup, butter and egg.
4Drain water from apricots into orange liqueur.
5Stir flour into butter mixture a little at a time, alternating with liqueur mixture.
6Stir in apricots and nuts.
7Pour batter into lightly oiled 9" x 5" loaf pan.
8Bake at 350 degrees 45-60 minutes.
9Bread will be golden brown and tooth pick will come out clean when finished.
10Cool before cutting
