Ingredients:
2 cupFlour
4 tspBaking powder
3/4 cupMilk
4 cupPared, sliced apples
1/4 cupBrown sugar
1/2 tspSalt
1/4 cupShortening
2 tbspMelted butter or butter
-substitute
1 tspCinnamon
1 cupBrown sugar
Procedures:
1Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder and salt.
2Cut in shortening with 2 spatulas.
3Add milk, mix quickly and lightly.
4Turn onto lightly floured board.
5Roll in oblong sheet ?inch thick.
6Brush with melted butter.
7Cover with apples.
8Sprinkle with 1 cup sugar and the cinnamon which have been mixed.
9Roll like a jelly roll.
10Cut in slices 1 ?inches thick.
11Sprinkle ?cup brown sugar over bottom of well-oiled pan.
12Place rolls, cut down, in pan.
13Bake in hot oven (425°F) about 40 minutes.
