Ingredients:
3 cupAll-purpose flour
1/2 cupSugar
2 tbspBaking powder
2 tspCinnamon
1 cupMargarine
2 cupOatbran
2 Golden Delicious apples
-grated with skin
2/3 cupCurrants
3/4 cup2 % milk
4 Egg whites
Procedures:
1In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon.
2Use two knives to cut margarine into a dry mixture until crumbly.
3Stir in oatbran, grated apple, and currants.
4In a measuring cup, whisk together 4 egg whites with milk.
5Mix egg mixture into oatbran mixture until moistened.
6Grease large cookie sheet and spread dough so that it is approximately 1 inch thick, 9 inches wide and 15 inches long.
7Score the dough into at least 18 squares.
8Bake at 375 deg f for 25-30 minutes.
9Best served warm with jam
