Ingredients:
4 1/2 cupWater
1 1/2 cupOatmeal, * see note
1/2 cupDried fruit
(raisins, apples, apricots
1 dashGround nutmeg
1 dashGround mace
1 dashGround cinnamon
Procedures:
1Recipe by: mcdougall bring water and fruit to a boil.
2Slowly add cereal to boiling water while stirring.
3Reduce heat to low, cook, stirring frequently, 15 to 30 minutes.
4The longer the ingredients cook, the softer they will be.
5The porridge should be like a thick soup.
6Do not add milk at the table.
7Helpful hints: most health food stores sell many kinds of whole grain cereals.
8Follow directions on package, but increase the amount of water by ?cup for every two servings.
9For added flavor, add a sprinkle of nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, or any combination of these
