Oatmeal buttermilk pancakes

Ingredients:
2 cupQuick Quaker Oats, uncooked
1/2 tspSoda
2 1/2 cupButtermilk
1 cupSifted all-purpose flour
2 tspBaking powder
1 tspSalt
2 tbspSugar
1/3 cupMelted or liquid shortening
2 Eggs, beaten
Procedures:
1Add oats and soda to buttermilk.
2Let stand 5 minutes.
3Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
4Add sifted dry ingredients, shortening and eggs to oats mixture.
5Stir until combined.
6For each pancake, pour about ?cup batter onto hot, lightly greased griddle.
7Bake to a golden brown, turning only once.
8Serve hot with butter and syrup.
9Makes 14 to 16 pancakes.
