Ingredients:
2 cupAll-purpose flour
1 tbspSalt
4 tbspBaking powder
2 tbspSugar
2 tbspFinely sliced chives
1 tbspFinely chopped thyme
1 tbspChopped Italian parsley
1 tbspFinely chopped fresh sage
5 ozUnsalted butter
1 1/2 cupMilk
2 Eggs, beaten
Procedures:
1Chef carole wagner greenwood of the tabard inn says the restaurant will serve these waffles with asparagus and topped with sauteed morels in an herb garlic butter in the spring, when the asparagus comes in season at the tabard farm.
2Makes 4 large waffles.
3Sift dry ingredients together.
4Stir in chopped fresh herbs.
5Heat butter and milk until butter is melted.
6Cool slightly before whisking in eggs.
7Quickly whisk in dry ingredients.
8Make waffles according to waffle iron instructions, greasing iron well - or make as small pancakes in a non-stick skillet.
