Ingredients:

| cup | Molasses | | 1/3
| cup | Butter or butter substitute | | 1 1/2
| tsp | Baking soda | | 1
| | Egg, well beaten | | 2
| cup | Cake flour | | 2
| tsp | Ginger | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1/2
| cup | Sour milk |

Procedures:
| 1 | Put butter and molasses in saucepan and heat to the boiling point. | | 2 | Remove from fire and beat in baking soda. | | 3 | Add milk and egg. | | 4 | Add dry ingredients which have been sifted together. | | 5 | Mix well. | | 6 | Bake in hot waffle iron. | | 7 | These are delicious served hot with whipped cream and a sprinkling of nutmeg. | | 8 | 6 waffles |
