Ingredients:

| cup | Whole rye berries, unprocess | | 2
| tsp | Ground cinnamon | | 1
| tsp | Caraway seeds | | 1
| tbsp | Vanilla extract | | 3
| cup | Water | | 1/4
| cup | Raisins | | | Ricotta cheese, optional | | | Sugar, optional |

Procedures:
| 1 | Combine all ingredients except raisins, ricotta and sugar in saucepan; mix well. | | 2 | Heat to a boil. | | 3 | Reduce heat to simmer and cook, covered, for 1 hour. | | 4 | Stir occasionally; add more water, if needed, to prevent scorching. | | 5 | During last 15 minutes of cooking time, add raisins. | | 6 | Top each serving with a dollop of ricotta cheese and sugar, if desired. |
