Ingredients:

| cup | FLOUR (ALL PURPOSE) | | 2 1/2
| tsp | BAKING POWDER | | 1/2
| tsp | BAKING SODA | | 1
| tsp | SALT | | 1/3
| cup | LARD | | 2
| tsp | LARD | | 3/4
| cup | BUTTERMILK | | 1
| x | MELTED BUTTER AS NEEDED |

Procedures:
| 1 | Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. | | 2 | Cut in lard with fork or pastry blender. | | 3 | Stir in buttermilk; mixing only until dry ingredients are moistened. | | 4 | Turn onto lightly floured board, turning several times to form a ball. | | 5 | Pat or roll into a circle ? to ? thick. | | 6 | Cut with small floured glass or biscuit cutter and place on a greased baking sheet. | | 7 | Brush tops with melted butter; bake at 450 °F. | | 8 | For 12 to 15 minutes or until golden in color |
