Cherry-almond glazed pork roast

Ingredients:
4 lbsBoneless pork roast
Salt and pepper
1 each12 oz jar cherry preserves
1/4 cupRed wine vinegar
2 tbspLight corn syrup
1/4 tspCinnamon
1/4 tspGround nutmeg
1/4 tspGround cloves
1/4 cupToasted slivered almonds
Procedures:
1Rub roast with a little salt and pepper.
2Place on rack in shallow roasting pan.
3Roast, uncovered at 325 °F for 2-4 hours.
4Meanwhile, combine preserves, vinegar, syrup, spices and ?teaspoon salt.
5Heat and stir until boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes.
6Add almonds.
7Keep sauce warm.
8Spoon some sauce over roast to glaze.
9Return to oven until meat thermometer reads 170 degrees, basting with sauce several times.
10Remove from oven and let stand ten minutes.
11Slice roast and pass remaining sauce over slices.
12Heat and serve
