Ingredients:
2 lbsGround beef
1 Onion, chopped
1 Green pepper, chopped
1 medCabbage, shredded
1 tspOrgeano
1 tspSalt
1/8 tspPepper
18 ozTomato paste, or
Tomato paste with italian
-seasonings
8 ozMozzarella cheese, sliced*
Procedures:
1Recipe by: bob b1744 * delicious using half provolone cheese, half mozzarella cheese.
2Saute ground beef, onion and green pepper until meat is brown.
3Drain well.
4Meanwhile, boil cabbage until tender, 2-5 minutes.
5Combine 2 cup of liquid form cabbage with oregano, salt, pepper and tomato paste.
6Simmer or microwave for 5 minutes.
7Add meat-vegetables mixture.
8Simmer for 5 minutes more.
9Spoon half of the tomato-meat mixture into a 13x9" pan.
10Layer well-drained cabbage on sauce then rest of sauce.
11Top with sliced cheese to cover.
12Bake at 400°F. for 25-40 minutes.
13Cheese can be added during last 5-10 minutes .
14Can microwave for a while and then finish in oven, to cut down cooking time
