Beef/rice casserole

Ingredients:
1/2 lbsGround Beef
1 cupChopped onion
1 packChopped Broccoli 10 oz.
1 canBroc/Cheese Soup
1/2 cupMilk
1 tspGarlic fresh
3/4 tspRice
1 1/2 cupWater
Procedures:
1Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
2Prepare the rice with the water in standard manner.
3(i do not use salt or margarine in the preparation of the rice).
4While the rice is cooking chop the onions and garlic.
5Saute slowly until onions are just tender.
6Add the ground beef and brown.
7Cook onions and ground beef about 7 minutes.
8Drain off the fat.
9Return to medium heat.
10Separately mix the broccoli cheese soup and milk.
11Stir until creamy in texture.
12At this point test for taste.
13I usually add table grind black pepper and salt (less that ?teaspoon).
14When the ground beef is ready, add the rice and broccoli, and soup mixture, tossing carefully.
15Put the mixture in to a 9 x 9, or 9 x 13 casserole dish.
16Sometimes i top this with seasoned bread crumbs and parmesan cheese.
17Bake about 35 minutes
