Baked lentil and vegetable stew

Ingredients:
1 lbsBrussels sprouts
1 cupDried green lentils
3 cupWater
1 cupOnions, chopped
2 cupCelery, chopped
1 cupCarrots, sliced
4 cupRutabaga, chopped
4 Bay leaves
1 tbspFresh gingerroot, grated
2 tbspTamari, low-sodium
Procedures:
1Preheat oven to 350 deg.
2Cut an "x" in the bottom of each brussels sprout.
3Combine brussels sprouts and remaining ingredients (except tamari) in a large baking dish.
4Bake, stirring occasionally, until lentils and vegetables are tender, about 1 hour.add more water to stew while baking if necessary.
5Stir in tamari and serve warm.
6Variation: serve oer brown rice or your favorite grain.
