Ingredients:

| cup | Dates, stoned but not cut up | | 1
| lbs | Walnut meats, not cut up | | 1
| lbs | Candied cherries, not cut up | | 1
| cup | Flour | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 3
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1
| cup | Sugar | | 4
| | Eggs, separated | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla |

Procedures:
| 1 | Mix dates, walnuts and cherries. | | 2 | Sift together flour, salt and baking powder, and mix with the fruit mixture. | | 3 | Add sugar and mix. | | 4 | Beat 4 egg yolks until thick and mix thoroughly through cake mix. | | 5 | Add vanilla. | | 6 | Beat egg whites until stiff and dry and fold into mixture. | | 7 | Line 2 loaf pans with wax paper, pour in mix and bake 1 hr at 350 degrees |
