Ingredients:
1/4 cupChopped onion
1/2 tbspChili powder
1/2 cupTomato sauce
1 tbspHoney
1/4 tbspPepper
1 xClove Garlic, minced
1 tbspMargarine
2 tbspVinegar
1/4 tbspSalt
1 1/2 lbsBeef flank Steak, ? thick
Procedures:
1For sauce, in a small saucepan cook onion, garlic, and chili powder in margarine till tender.
2Stir in tomato sauce, vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper.
3Bring to boiling, stirring constantly.
4Boil 5 minutes or till slightly thickened.
5Meanwhile, trim fat from flank steak.
6Score steak diagonally into diamonds on both sides.
7Brush with sauce.
8Grill steak on uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 7 minutes.
9Turn and grill to desired doneness, allowing 5-7 minutes more for medium.
10Brush occasionally with the remaining sauce.
11To serve, thinly slice the flank steak across the grain.
12Broiling directions: place meat on the unheated rack of a broilerpan.
13Broil 3" from heat for 6 minutes.
14Turn and broil to desired doneness, allowing 6-8 minutes more for medium.
15Brush occasionally with sauce.
