Ingredients:
COOKIE
1 cupLard Or Shortening
1/2 cupSugar
1 Egg
3 cupFlour
1 1/2 tspBaking Powder
1/2 tspSalt
1 tspAnise Seed
3 tbspSweet Wine
TOPPING
1/4 cupSugar
1 tbspCinnamon
Procedures:
1Cream fat and sugar until quite creamy.
2Add egg and beat until very fluffy.
3Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture.
4Stir in wine and anise seed.
5Roll dough to ? thick and cut in plain squares or fancy shapes.
6Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle on top of each cookie.
7Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 15-20 minutes or until light brown.
8Freezes well
