Herb-basted steak

Ingredients:
1 cupDry red wine
1/2 cupSliced green onion
1/4 cupChopped green bell pepper
1/4 cupChopped celery
1/4 cupOlive or vegetable oil
1 Clove garlic, minced
1 tspSalt
1 Flank steak (2 Lbs)
Procedures:
1Bunch parsley, rosemary, or tarragon combine the first 7 ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil.
2Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.
3Remove from heat and cool completely.
4Place flank steak in a shallow glass baking dish; pour cooled marinade over the meat.
5Marinate for at least 1 hour at room temperature.
6Prepare the grill for cooking.
7Pour marinade from steak into small bowl.
8Tie a bunch of fresh herb with string to make a basting brush.
9Grill steak 4 inches from coals, basting with reserved marinade using herb "brush".
10Cook for 5 minutes per side for rare, 7 minutes for medium, or 9 minutes for well done.
11Slice diagonally across the grain into thin slices and serve with garlic bread.
12Makes 6 servings.
