Ingredients:
4 medGreen peppers, washed
1 lbsLean ground beef
1/2 cupQuick-cooking rice, uncooked
1 tspSalt
1/4 tspPepper
1/2 tspDried oregano leaves
1/8 tspGarlic powder
1/3 cupWater, milk or tomato juice
1 Egg slightly beaten
8 ozTomato sauce with onion bits
Procedures:
1Cut green pepper in half lengthwise; remove core and seeds.
2Place peppers, hollow-side-up, in a shallow, heat-resistant, non-metallic baking dish.
3In a medium-sized bowl, crumble beef.
4Add rice, salt, pepper, oregano, garlic powder, water, egg and ?cup of tomato sauce.
5Mix until thoroughly combined.
6Spoon mixture into pepper halves.
7Spoon remaining tomato sauce over peppers.
8Heat, covered loosely with wax paper, 14 minutes in micro- wave oven or until meat is cooked and peppers are as tender as desired.
9Allow to stand 4 minutes, covered, before serving
