Tentsuyu sauce

Ingredients:
1 cupLight broth
1/3 cupMirin OR
1/3 cupSweet sherry OR
1/3 cupHoney
1/3 cupSoy sauce
1 tspMSG, (optional)
Daikon radish, 1" piece
Horseradish
Ginger, grated, to taste
Lemon juice, optional
Procedures:
1Mix all ingredients except the horseradish, ginger and lemon juice.
2Bring to a boil, and remove from heat.
3Grate the radish.
4Hydrate the horseradish if you are using the dried product.
5For serving, put warm sauce into individual bowls.
6Place a heap of the radish topped with horseradish on each plate of fried food.
7Each person should mix as much of this with his sauce as suits his taste.
8Add the lemon juice if desired.
9This sauce used mainly with tempura.
