Ingredients:

| cup | Water | | 1/2
| tsp | Cinnamon | | 2
| drop | Red Food Coloring | | 1/2
| | Lemon, sliced thin | | 1/2
| | Orange, sliced thin | | | Chocolate Liqueur Sauce | | 1
| pint | Vanilla Ice Cream | | 1/4
| cup | Walnuts, chopped | | | CHOCOLATE LIQUEUR SAUCE | | 2
| tbsp | Butter or Margarine | | 2
| | Unsweetened Chocolate square | | 1
| cup | Sugar | | 1/2
| cup | Water | | 2
| tbsp | Apple Brandy -OR- | | | - Creme de Cacao |

Procedures:
| 1 | Preheat oven to 350°F. | | 2 | Wash & core apples, but do not peel. | | 3 | Cut apple 1/3-?of the way from top to bottom in 6 or 8 sections, depending on size of apple. | | 4 | Place in shallow, ungreased baking pan. | | 5 | Mix sugar and cinnamon together in small saucepan; add water, lemon and orange slices, and bring to a boil. | | 6 | Boil 7 mins. | | 7 | Or until syrup is thickened. | | 8 | Discard lemon and orange slices. | | 9 | Pour this syrup over the apples, and bake for 30 minutes or until fork tender. | | 10 | Baste apples frequently during baking with syrup from the pan. | | 11 | They should be nicely glazed when done. | | 12 | To serve warm, let apples stand 10-15 minutes before continuing. | | 13 | Also good served cold. | | 14 | Place apple in glass dessert bowl, opening the apple sectionsso they spread (like flower petals) to fit the bowl. | | 15 | Cut sections deeper if needed to open it more easily. | | 16 | Fill center of apple with scoop of ice cream. | | 17 | Drizzle the chocolate liqueur sauce over all, and garnish with chopped walnuts. | | 18 | Serve immediately. | | 19 | Chocolate liquer sauce: melt butter and chocolate in saucepan over low heat. | | 20 | Add sugar and water. | | 21 | Cook until sauce is thickened a bit, stirring frequently. | | 22 | Add liqueur and remove from heat. cool |
