| 1 | Should be done a day ahead. |
| 2 | Line two identical 1 ?quart bowls with foil. |
| 3 | Chill. |
| 4 | Let ice cream soften slightly. |
| 5 | Spoon 1 ?quarts into each bowl, sprinkling with spice. |
| 6 | Smooth tops and freeze, covered, overnight. |
| 7 | To assemble pumpkin: in lg chilled bowl, combine cream, sugar, vanilla, and food coloring. |
| 8 | Beat mixture till stiff. |
| 9 | Refrigerate. |
| 10 | Turn ice cream out of bowls; remove foil. |
| 11 | Place the 2 flat surfaces together to form a ball. |
| 12 | Place on a cookie sheet. |
| 13 | With small spatula, spread whipped cream evenly over ice cream ball; make grooves with spatula, to give a pumpkin-like appearance. |
| 14 | Insert piece of citron in top for a stem. |
| 15 | Place pumpkin in freezer till needed. |
| 16 | Set pumpkin on serving tray. |
| 17 | Decorate with autumn leaves. |
| 18 | Serve with chocolate sauce, if desired |
