Ingredients:
1/2 lbsItalian sausage *
1 cupSliced mushrooms
1/3 cupChopped onion
2 1/4 cupMilk
1/2 cupButter or margarine
1 cupGreen pepper strips
1/3 cupAll-purpose flour
8 ozCheddar cheese shredded
1/2 cupGrated parmesan cheese
8 ozCut Ziti - uncooked
1/2 tspPepper
Procedures:
1* sliced into coins in 4-quart saucepan, brown sausage.
2Remove from pan and drain off fat.
3Melt butter and cook mushrooms, pepper and onion until tender but not brown.
4Blend flour into vegetable mixture.
5Gradually stir in milk.
6Cook, stirring consstantly over med-low heat until mixture begins to boil.
7Boil and stir 1 minute.
8Blend in 1 ?cups cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese and pepper until cheeses are melted and mixture is smooth.
9Cook ziti according to package directions, and drain.
10Stir hot cooked ziti and sausage into vegetable cheese mixture.
11Pour into buttered 2-quart casserole.
12Sprinkle with remaining ?cup cheddar cheese.
13Bake covered at 350°F for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
