Ingredients:

| cup | Shortening | | 1
| cup | Brown sugar | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla | | 1
| cup | Flour | | 1 1/4
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| | Egg | | 2/3
| cup | Finely chopped gum drops | | 2
| tbsp | Water after vanilla |

Procedures:
| 1 | Melt shortening in saucepan, remove from heat and add sugar, vanilla. | | 2 | Water, flour, baking powder and salt.mix well, beat in egg, stir in gum drops. | | 3 | Pour into greased 8 " square pan and bake in 350°F. oven 30 min. cool and cut in squares |
