Ingredients:
| 2
| cup | Sugar | | 3/4
| cup | Milk | | 1
| tsp | Karo syrup (corn) | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla | | 2
| tbsp | Butter | | 1
| cup | Diced red or green candied | | | Cherries | | 1/2
| cup | Chopped nuts |

Procedures:
| 1 | Mix together sugar, milk, and corn syrup in saucepan. | | 2 | Bring to boil, lower heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. | | 3 | When a drop form in a firm ball in cold water, remove from heat. | | 4 | Stir in butter and vanilla. | | 5 | Let cool. | | 6 | Beat well with a large spoon until mixture loses gloss. | | 7 | Quickly stir in conadied fruit and nuts. | | 8 | Pour into buttered 8 or 9 inch square pan. | | 9 | When set, cut in squares. | | 10 | Variations: for chocolate fudge, stir 4 tbsp cocoa into sugar before adding milk. | | 11 | For peanut butter flavor, substitute 3 tbsp peanut butter for the butter. | | 12 | Use chopped or diced dates, if desired, or coconut instead of fruits and nuts. | | 13 | Wrap in foil to store. | | 14 | This is an excellent fudge which keeps well. |
