Procedures:
| 1 | Combine ground almonds, sugar and flavouring in a saucepan. | | 2 | Cook until mixture leaves side of pan. | | 3 | Roll almond mixture on a flat surface to about ?inch thickness. | | 4 | Cut into shapes, mold, paint with food colouring, decorate, etc. | | 5 | Place on wax paper to dry for 2 hours. | | 6 | Notes: * marzipan -- this recipe could be used as part of a 12-course meal known in polish as wigilia, or on its own. | | 7 | Wigilia is eaten after sundown on christmas eve. | | 8 | : difficulty: easy. | | 9 | : time: ?hour plus time to decorate. | | 10 | : precision: approximate measurement ok. | | 11 | : original recipe passed down through the generations and translated from polish into english |
