Helen's holiday float

Ingredients:
2 quartWhole milk
5 xEggs
1 1/4 cupSugar
3/4 cupFlour, plain
1 tspVanilla extract
2 tbspWhiskey or Extract
2 tbspBrandy or Extract
1 tbspNutmeg
Procedures:
1Scald all but ?cup milk in top of a large double boiler.
2Separate eggs.
3In a large bowl, beat yokes well while adding 1 cup sugar and flour sifted together and ?cup cold milk.
4Add hot milk slowly to mixture, stirring well.
5Put back into double boiler and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
6Remove from heat, add wiskey, brandy and vanilla.
7Place nutmeg on bottom of a large baking bowl.
8Beat egg whites while slowly adding 10 tablespoons sugar until foam peaks.
9Place on top of custard mix.
10Bake at 350f about 10 minutes or top turns golden brown.
11Chill before serving
