Christmas ginger cookies

Ingredients:
6 cupFlour
1 tbspBaking soda
1 tbspGinger
1 tspCloves
1 tspCinnamon
1 tspNutmeg
1/2 tspSalt
1 cupSolid shortening, Crisco
1 cupMolasses
1 cupBrown sugar, packed
1/2 cupWater
1 Large egg
1 tspVanilla
Procedures:
1Mix flour, soda, spices and salt.
2Beat shortening, molasses, sugar, water, egg and vanilla until well blended.
3Gradually beat in flour mixture.
4Will be soft.
5Divide into fourths.
6Pat each ?into 1" thick round.
7Wrap in plastic and refrigerate at least 3 hours or up to 1 week.
8Roll on lightly floured surface to 1/8" thick, cut with ginermen cutters and bake at 350 °F for 10-12 minutes.
9Cool slightly on cookie sheet, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
