Ingredients:
3 cupSugar
1/4 tspCream of tartar
1/4 tspSalt
1 cupMilk
2 tbspButter
1 tspBlack walnut extract
1/2 cupWalnuts, chopped
Procedures:
1Cook sugar, cream of tartar, salt, and milk to soft ball stage, stirring frequently.
2Wipe down sides of pan to remove crystals.
3Remove from heat; add butter.
4Cool without stirring, until lukewarm.
5Add extract and nuts; beat until creamy.
6Pour into a greased square pan; cut in squares.
7Makes 1 ?pounds.
