Ingredients:
2 lbsRound steak, chuck steak or
-roast
1 tspOnion salt
1/2 tspSalt
1/2 tspGarlic salt
1/2 tspLemon pepper
1/2 tspSausage seasoning
1/2 tspThyme
1/2 tspOregano
1/2 tspMarjoram
1/2 tspBasil
Procedures:
1Fat grams per serving: approx. cook time: 8 hrs combine the spices in a dish.
2Cut the meat into strips less than ?of an inch thick.
3Remove all fat.
4Sprinkle one side with the combined seasonings and beat with a meat hammer.
5Turn and repeat the seasoning and beating.
6Place the strips on a cookie sheet or other flat pan.
7Place in a 120°F oven for 4 hrs.
8Turn and put back for another 4 hrs.
9Keep the oven door propped open for the entire time to allow the moisture to escape.
10With a gas oven, the pilot light may be enough to provide the heat.
11Store in a plastic bag.
12Also may be stored in a pillowcase.
13Do not store in a paper bag. ~+--
